Traumatic events, including surgery, will almost always leave patients with scars. In many cases scars will be barely visible. A scar will never be removed permanently, but a better aesthetic result is possible.

In some cases, however, scars might be unsightly, raised, itchy and even painful.

Some hypertrophic scars and keloids can be treated by means of injection with a topical steroid, rather than surgery. A combination of steroid injections and microneedling might also prove successful, and this treatment modality has been used very successfully in my practice.

I will discuss various scar treatment options with you so that we can decide on the most appropriate option for your scar and your circumstances.
